TheraBionic device:
The TheraBionic device is an innovative medical device used to treat advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other cancers. It uses very low amplitude modulated electromagnetic fields (EMF) at a carrier frequency of 27.12 MHz.
How it works:
- Amplitude-modulated EMFthe device emits electromagnetic fields that are modulated at tumour-specific frequencies. These frequencies have been identified through biofeedback approaches in cancer patients.
- Intrabuccal administrationthe EMFs are administered via a mouthpiece, which distributes the fields safely and effectively throughout the body.
Clinical data:
- Phase I/II study: In a study of 41 patients with advanced HCC, the TheraBionic device showed an anti-cancer effect in 48.8% of patients. Objective responses and/or long-term survival were observed in 19.5% of patients.
- Alpha-fetoproteinin some patients, alpha-fetoprotein levels, a marker for HCC, decreased by 20% or more.
Advantages:
- High tolerabilitythe device was very well tolerated with minimal side effects. No serious toxic effects were observed.
- Long-term therapeutic responsessome patients showed long-term therapeutic responses, including stable disease and partial or complete tumour regression.
Application:
- Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)the device is mainly used for the treatment of advanced HCC.
- Other cancersthere is also evidence of efficacy in other cancers such as breast cancer, pancreatic cancer and ovarian cancer.
The TheraBionic device offers a promising alternative treatment option for patients with advanced cancer that is safe, well tolerated and potentially offers long-term therapeutic benefits.
